It’s okay to be honest about breastfeeding. No matter what you read, what you hear and how you are made to feel, at the end of the day what is right for you and your child should determine whether or not you breastfeed.
We at HOTmilk like to encourage breastfeeding at every opportunity. Our goal is to make women feel supported, strong and sexy during pregnancy and beyond through the wearing of sexy maternity lingerie. If you feel feminine and fabulous, we fully believe each and every decision will come a little easier. In saying this, we are right behind every woman choosing her own path.
The deputy editor of Britain’s Mother and Baby magazine has found herself the centre of a breastfeeding furore for daring to describe her experience of breastfeeding as “creepy”. Is the ensuing outcry not a little OTT? She expressed her opinion based on her experience in an editorial forum which is where opinions are aired. She does not try to impose her opinion on others; she merely relates her own feelings. Surely this is a sign of an empowered woman?
Back in February, top New Zealand TV presenter Carly Flynn was a little reluctant to reveal all when coerced into ‘fessing up to her pregnancy on TV3’s Sunrise breakfast show, by co-host Oliver Driver.
Carly Flynn is now reveling in her pregnancy and looking forward to the arrival next month of her first baby with husband and cameraman, Dave Flynn.
Carly has this to say about her HOTmilk – Radiant In Her Rescue nursing lingerie, “Nice to have some gorgeous underwear not just the plain cotton variety at this stage! Perfect fit too! Not long to go now.”
We wish Carly all the very best at this exciting time in her life!
“Just wanted to send you a message to say I am thrilled with your gorgeous range of nursing bras. I am about to pop with third and final baby, and really wish I had known about your bras with my first two. I wore these disgusting (not HOTmilk!) HUGE bras for my first two pregnancies, and they were only avail in white, I am a F to G cup which was always a pain in the bum. I accidentally found the gorgeous black HOTmilk nursing bra and it has made me feel nice about myself especially having such huge boobies. I just also bought the desire one today. So that is enough of my ravings. Just wanted to say thanks!!! Regards from a very satisfied customer.
The other day I had lunch with two of my girl friends. One is engaged, one is newlywed and I have been married for 10+ years. We were chatting about our relationships and decided to amaze our men by greeting them at the door wearing black lingerie, stiletto heels and a mask over our eyes. We agreed to meet in a few days to swap notes.
Here’s how it all went.
My engaged friend: The other night when my fiance came over he found me with a black leather bodice, tall stilettos and a mask. He saw me and said, ‘You are the woman of my dreams!’ Then we made passionate love all night long..
The newlywed: Me too! The other night I met my new husband at his office and I was wearing a Raincoat, under it only the black lingerie, heels and Mask over my eyes. When I opened the raincoat he didn’t say a word, but he started to tremble and we had wild sex all Night.
Then I had to share my Story: When my husband came home I was wearing the black lingerie, black stockings, stilettos and a mask over my eyes. When he came in the door and saw me he said,
British model and WAG, Danielle Lloyd, was featured in Celebs On Sunday, The Sunday Mirror Magazine’s celebrity glossy, over the weekend. With only six weeks until the birth of her baby boy, the 26 year old beauty spoke of her love for her fiancé, Spurs footballer Jamie O’Hara, her angst over falling pregnant and….how much she loves HOTmilk Lingerie. We think she looks fantastic in it!
Whether you’re a celebrity or not, Danielle highlights the need for women to look and feel gorgeous during pregnancy and beyond. She deserves it and so do you!
There is certainly never a dull moment in the business of pregnancy!
Take a wee moment to think of all the weird and wonderful stories you have heard regarding pregnancy and breastfeeding, where truth and fiction blur constantly. Here at HOTmilk, where we deal daily with both, we do like to keep in mind the lighter side of the reproductive phenomenon which lead us to think about the huge number of euphemisms out there to skirt round the issue of being pregnant. Now why can’t we just come out and say, “I’m pregnant, she’s pregnant, his girlfriend’s pregnant…”. No, it seems not!
Yes, we can see there are times when euphemisms do come into play but more to disguise a few fairly graphic anatomical terms, particularly in front of Junior who may happen to be around. But being pregnant? Is it not one of the most enduring facts of life and a cause for celebration?
The recent debate created by American lifestyle magazine Better Home & Gardens regarding breastfeeding in public toilets (see previous blog entry to read more) is not a new – one nor, sadly, is it confined to any one continent. Here is what the Australian Breastfeeding Association had to say on the topic with a to-the-point TV campaign…
In China, the Hong Kong Breastfeeding Mothers Association, in their fight to introduce legislation to create public nursing rooms, took it straight to the decision makers when they sent lunch invitations to influential government officials featuring an image of cutlery placed on the rim of a toilet seat. Nice work ladies! The video they produced about this is also well worth a watch.
Somewhat ironically however, a Taiwanese restaurant chain has created an opportunity for those who chose to put their money where there mouth is with their unusual table seating options. Well you cant deny it provides food for thought… but are they breastfeeding friendly is the real question! Then breastfeeding on the toilet wouldn’t be so bad?? What do you think?
We were alerted to this new lingerie phenomenon – for want of a better word! – by the wonderful team at The Lingerie Post. A Cleavage Caddy, so called as it reminds one of a golf caddy which is defined by the stuffing of everything but the kitchen sink into a myriad of pockets!
Do we really need to be adding pockets to our bras?
“Lifestyle” magazine Better Homes and Gardens seem to have really got themselves in the pooh lately with a recent article boldly proclaiming that while dinning out “THOU SHALT NOT BREAST FEED AT THE TABLE” but rather moms, needing to feed their precious little ones, should “TAKE IT TO THE LADIES ROOM.”
Not surprisingly the doodoos seem to have have really hit the fan with a strong public backlash to BHG’s commanding article. And well, as firm advocates for breastfeeding, such advice from a leading magazine has got us at HOTmilk wondering which century BHG are living in! Let us know what you think or better yet, log on to the BHG facebook page and tell them directly what you think.
Ps. BHG have since recognized the error of judgment made on their part and have issued an official apology on their own blog - as well as doing so directly on our own HOTmilk blog! View the comments on this posting to read.
